The picture I made today is a photographic sculpture made up of line, tone and form. It is part of an ongoing study into the juxtaposition of formal elements. The crimson tone is a comment on the transformative properties of a photograph. What interests me is the format of a photograph or painting, in particular, the change in scale dimension, and perception. I like to use recognisable items that are natural, or man made, to help question the idea of changes in their identity and usage and the part they play in becoming something new.
